At Louology, we take your privacy, security, and your trust in us seriously. We want you to rest-assured we will always respect your information, your inbox, and every way we can possibly message you. Our priority is to be your trusted go-to, and know we will never sell or share your data without your asking us to first.

The information we collect about you is strictly used to make sure we always do our best to create education programs, success guides, and events that interest you, enrich your life, and that stay most relevant to our industry, and that align most ideally with your needs and requests!

Our privacy policy is pretty simple, and it is always practiced with great empathy for what we would hope for and expect ourselves.

On the security front, whenever we are leveraging technology to collect personal information about you through our website, or payment information from you through ecommerce systems, we default to utilizing best practices such as relying on WordPress to keep our security certificates and systems automatically updated to the most recent versions, and organizations like Stripe to keep our interchanges and practices as secure and compliant as the industry commands.

Cookies

Cookies are ingenious and useful to everyone involved. If you leave a comment on our site or engage in filling out a form, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year and are up to you to opt-into.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Otherwise, we don’t share your data with anyone, unless you specifically ask us to.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information you provide in your private user profile. You can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except you cannot change your username). Authorized Louology website administrators can also see and edit that information for you per your request.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service or viewed by authorized Louology team members only.
